You will be amazed by what the area outside of Metro Edmonton has to offer. Sturgeon County, located on the northern borders of Edmonton and St. Albert, offers tourism experiences to suit a wide variety of interests, preferences, lifestyles and budgets.
 
Family friendly and tons of fun, many of Sturgeon County’s destinations and events are the perfect getaway for all ages. From spring through fall, Prairie Gardens, located north of Bon Accord, features a greenhouse, market garden, gift shop, and corn maze. Don’t miss their many events during the year, including the famous Haunted Pumpkin Festival open every weekend in October. A little further north, enjoy the charm and elegance at Lily Lake Village Resort.

Those who prefer to rev it up on their outing can check out Stratotech Park for kart, formula and sport bike racing. Bring your own ATV to the Sandhills Natural Area east of Redwater where rolling sands hills are ideal for a day of riding.  

Sturgeon County is also home to numerous, one-of-a-kind, rural tourism sites. Extraordinary greenhouses include St. Albert Greenhouse, LCJ Greenhouses and Gifts, and Lily's Greenhouse and Ornamental Garden Accessories. Enjoy a rural retreat at one of the numerous horseback riding facilities such as Longriders RV Park and Horseback Riding and MP Stables. 

For a trip way back in time be sure to visit Jurassic Forest located off of highway 28 north of Gibbons.

From corn mazes to cultural festivals to ATV trails to concerts, Sturgeon County is an interesting and exciting destination for a day trip, weekend getaway or extended vacation.
