Prairie Gardens & Greenhouses
NESTLED COMFORTABLY IN THE FERTILE STURGEON COUNTY, 1/2 hour north of Edmonton, Prairie Gardens and Greenhouses have busied themselves capturing the freshness and purity of the country living and family fun just outside of Bon Accord, Alberta.
Spring brings an opulent collection of gorgeous flowers, ultra hardy prairie fruits, and designer patio planters for spring at the quaint countryside garden centre. Linger and soak in the fragrances in the greenhouses, the trickle of an indoor waterfall, and beauty in every direction.
In the summertime, experience the artisanal fields of pick-your-own strawberries, peas on the pod, gourmet banana potatoes, or peaches and cream corn, as you harvest naturally delicious farm fresh treats through July and August. Savor the flavor of fresh homemade strawberry shortcake, or a Foothills Creamery Ice Cream Cone, as you stroll around the gardens, or rest in the shade at Pirates' Cove, a favorite getaway for kids of all ages. The kids will love to discover baby bunnies, exotic chickens, and friendly Katahdin lambs.

Your entire family is invited to come and delight in the Fairy-Berry Festival over the August long weekend, complete with faeries, pirates, and the largest Dragon puzzle in Canada - the Great Prairie Corn Maze! With seven acres of towering corn, bridges, and E-Z out exits, it's an excellent opportunity for a leg stretch, team building and some sunshine! The Great Prairie Corn Maze is open from August to October. Flashlight Mazes after dark and campfire cookouts are great getaways for company picnics and group adventures.
Pumpkins are in the air in October! Literally - the Haunted Pumpkin Festival boasts a crazy pumpkin cannon firing pumpkins three hundred meters at the pirate ship, haunted house, puppet shows, and wacky witch fun every weekend. Build a real scarecrow, get lost in the maze, and enjoy fresh pumpkin pie, homemade chili, and hot chocolate. For the youngsters in your family there is always a spectacle of exotic farm animals, mini bale mazes, pumpkin painting, an indoor pumpkin patch, wagon rides, straw jumps, and ‘gem' mining to keep the fun going! Celebrate Halloween - Alberta style!
The gift shops are open May - October and adult tours can be accommodated on nearly any schedule.
