  • The Hidden Gem of Redwater

As you walk through the doors you’ll be transported back in time to the homesteading era of the Redwater area and a history of the one room schools that dotted the landscape.  The pictures and artifacts take you on a journey from wilderness to an emerging hamlet & Boomtown Alberta, when oil was discovered near Redwater.

A visit to the “hidden gem of Redwater” will be both entertaining and educational. The history and ethnic diversity of those hardy pioneers who settled the Redwater wilderness is captured in pictures, artifacts and stories throughout the museum.

The museum houses a collection of over 4000 enlarged photographs pertaining to Redwater and the people of this area. We also have books and records in our archives to assist historians and genealogical researchers.

Our military display focuses on our veterans of World War II, with a large collection of pictures of local veterans. The museum is establishing a book of tribute to honour our veterans.

Redwater Museum and Tourist Information is open during the summer season and by appointment any time of the year.  A visit to our museum is only a phone call away.
