History is brought to life at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, Alberta’s premier Ukrainian-themed attraction. Step back in time at this award-winning outdoor living-history museum that tells the story of once the largest Ukrainian bloc settlement in the world outside Ukraine. Learn the settlement story of Ukrainian pioneers as you explore more than 30 historic buildings and interact with costumed role-players depicting authentic pioneer, cultural and agricultural experiences from east central Alberta (1892-1930).
Visit this year’s feature exhbit: Making the Grade: School life at the end of the 1920s, which looks at the growth and development of two-room schools, the formalization of teacher training and teaching standards. This exhibit will be on display from May 17 to September 1.
