Take a walk into Morinville's past, settled in 1891, and explore history on the new self-guided Historic Morinville Walking Tour. From vignettes and founder's monument in St. Jean Baptiste Park, to the stained glass beauty of St. Jean Baptiste Church built in 1907, to historic homes dotted throughout the downtown area. The adjacent rectory and church are designated Provincial Historical sites. The walking tour offers a pleasant diversion from today's hectic pace. Nearby is the new spray water park you can cool off in. Take a break at one of our neighbourhood restaurants or at an old-fashion ice cream stand. For nature buffs, 6 km of paved walking trails hosts a gazebo and a shady picnic area complete with a barbeque to grill your fresh catch from an annually stocked Fish & Game Pond. For the skateboard fanatic the Bob Foster Extreme Skateboard Park is always open or enjoy a rousing game at our tennis courts. Lighted Skyline Park brings action on the ball diamonds into the night and hosts numerous tournaments. Play 18 holes of golf at one of our local beautiful courses, set up camp at the local campground, or take in some of the exciting events that are held throughout the year.
