![]() MilletThe Town of Millet, population 2,125, is located on Highway 2A, 45 km (25 minutes) south of Edmonton or 20 km (15 minutes) south of the Edmonton International Airport. A picturesque rural community, it is situated alongside the original Pacific Railway built in 1891, and is centered on a 65-acre park system with natural and manicured areas, including Pipestone Creek and Eyot Creek. Multi use lighted and paved pathways, trails and facilities such as the Agriplex, ball diamonds, soccer fields, and a splash pad are also part of the system.
Millet hosts a variety of annual events such as Millet Days, Soccer, Ball, Hockey and Broomball Tournaments, a Community Garage Sale, Country Gospel Concerts, a Garden Tour & Strawberry Tea, the Harvest Festival, and a Skating Carnival.
Millet became known as “the Prettiest Little Town in Alberta” largely due to its champion status in the National Communities in Bloom Program.Millet is also home to a Recognized Community Travel Alberta Visitor Information Centre and an Award Winning Museum and Archives.
