Mundare: Exploring the small town with a big heart

In preparation of Mundare’s upcoming Agri-Daze event taking this weekend (August 14th & 15th), we’ve put together a few activities to do while in town. Not able to make it to the Agri-Daze event? This list will still give you plenty of reasons to make a day trip east of Edmonton.

Rich in a Ukrainian background, the Town of Mundare is the “small town with a big heart”. Spending a day in Mundare is like spending a day immersing yourself in history, community and culture. But you’re probably wondering what you could do in a town this small, right? Well, here are some ideas for you!

Breakfast is the Most Important Meal of the Day

Upon your arrival in Mundare, make sure you stop at the Mundare Bakery, famous for its gluten-free and vegan baking. This bakery has been around since 1926, with the current owners taking it over in 2013. Everything is made from scratch daily, so make sure to come and treat yourself!

“Big” Sightseeing Opportunities

Mundare is home to a very unique sightseeing experience – the world’s largest sausage replica! Standing 12.8 metres high and weighing 6 tons, this is truly something you do not want to miss. This replica was built as a tribute to Stanwichy’s Meat Processing.

Indoors or Out, There is Something for Everyone

There are many activities for visitors to Mundare to enjoy.  Here are some of the great experiences:
