The Millet and District Museum is located in the Town Administration Building on Millet's Main Street with over 3,000 square feet of displays. The Museum celebrated 25 years of Achieving Excellence in 2010. The governing authority is the Millet and District Historical Society.

Don't miss the temporary summer exhibit for 2011 featuring nine of Millet's Pioneer Women.

Collections at the museum include the School kiosk, which features the school bell from the first Millet school. This is a popular Geocahe site. The 12 surrounding rural schools are featured with first hand oral histories of what is was like to go to school in the one room schools around Millet.

The exhibit “From a Signpost in a Slough” depicts the history of Millet from 1900 to 1960. The beginning of the railroad, hotel, store, livery barn and creamery.

The Commemorative Wall - a permanent display has over 200 Millet Veteran photographs with their service information. It is enhanced by a mural showing Army, Airforce, and Navy personnel, and the activities of each.

The lower level is accessible by stairchair to our historic village that depicts Millet in 1930's including a barbershop, an implement dealer, and Hillside, a one room school room and historic house with kitchen, bedroom, parlour and toolshed.

Extensive school programs are offered, along with guided, interpretive tours of the local Millet and Catholic Cemetery in English and French.

Find out about our Guided Historic Walking Tours and brochure including over a dozen historic building plaques as well as the Community in Blooms local competition winners. For more information, contact the Museum. At 780-387-5558 we are open Monday - Saturday 8:30-4:30 from May until August 27, 2011.
