Country Christmas

October – January

During this time of year, we begin to sense a change in the air. The weather begins to change and some of us have snow in our yards. One gets the feeling that Christmas is in the air and it gives us a sense of expectancy. Seems that, when the cold weather rolls around each year, we just assume Christmas is "right around the corner". Even before Thanksgiving has come and gone, the malls begin to dress up for the holiday season. The Christmas trees are decorated, garland is everywhere and the lights are turned on. The holiday season has begun, and Tom Turkey isn't even out of the oven.

So our houses are all aglow with lights everywhere, the tree will be trimmed in colourful decorations, and we are into the spirit of the season. What is there left to do? Go shopping for that one-of-a-kind gift, spend a weekend retreat with your girlfriends, enjoy a hands-on demonstration in creating evergreen centerpieces, or enjoy what the outdoors has to offer besides snow.

Join us in Edmonton’s Countryside and “Experience the Wonder!”

WHATS NEW!

We are gearing up for our spring sale and wedding season.  So many lovely pottery pieces just perfect for Mothers Day or a one of a kind wedding gift.  Not sure what to give.....we do gift certificates.

I have been delving into the world of buttons.  Such fun.  There will be an ever changing array on hand in the studio.  Three different sizes to choose from and a variety of colors and patterns.

We now have a lovely selection of Rosa Pinzauti's beautiful watercolors on display in the studio year round.  Remember to look up when you are at the studio so you don't miss them.  They are stunning.

Work of Our Hands Spring Open House and Sale

The pussywillows are out so that means it is time for our annual spring sale!  We have been working all winter filling the shelves with beautiful, functional porcelain pottery pieces.  So much to choose from....small and simple to intricately carved...there is a piece of pottery just waiting to go home with you, or someone you love.  All my talented artisan friends are coming to join me for the weekend.....so there will be lots of different hand made items to see and buy.  Paintings, cards, honey, jam, jewelery, purses, scarves, sculptures, alpaca hiking socks, butterflies and more.  Sad news....our wonderful soap maker, The Laughing Dragonfly is not going to be making soap anymore, so this is your last chance to stock up on your favorite scents.  Bring your own reusable shopping bag and have your name entered for the mug draw.

Saturday  April 28th  10 - 5
Sunday  April 29th  10 - 5

Bring a friend or two, hop into the car, and come for a lovely day in the Edmonton Countryside.  Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm will also be having their Spring Grand Opening the same weekend.

Olds Fiber Week

June 22nd - 25th, Olds, Alberta

I am back with the fiber people for another event, this time at Olds College.   More yarn bowls of all different sizes and a variety of bowls for the drop spindle spinners.  Also bead bowls, buttons, needle holders and of course my line of functional pottery.  Just a great group of people and way too much yarn to fondle.  They also judge raw fiber from all types of sheep and alpacas and such at this event...so there is lots to see.  Check out  www.oldscollege.ca/fibreweek for more information.
